News regarding (Interim) BEARS RD, Dominga Estrada

June 10, 2022

(Editors note: the following CALMessage was sent to all employees in the Vice Chancellor Administration division on 6/10/22).

Dear Administration Colleagues,

On 2/24/22, we communicated that Lori Tannyhill, Regional Director of the BEARS Region in Berkeley Regional Services will be retiring from Berkeley effective 7/1/22.

We are following up with the news that effective 6/1/22, BEARS HR Supervisor, Dominga Estrada has assumed the role as (Interim) BEARS Regional Director (RD) as well as continuing in her current HR Supervisor role. The recruitment/interviewing for the new RD is in progress and we anticipate that Dominga will likely serve in her interim RD role until an August/September timeframe.

Dominga is a talented leader and will be amazing in this role bringing eight (8) years of experience supporting the Berkeley campus. In addition to her current HR role, she previously supervised teams as a part of the BEST Region and in the former Campus Shared Services (CSS). Dominga has nine years of overall experience in human resources leadership positions in private and nonprofit organizations, and served as HR Partner at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. A Cal graduate herself, Dominga started her HR career as an assistant for the University's Library HR department, and is grateful for the continued opportunity to serve her Alma Mater.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Dominga for taking on this additional role to support and collaborate with the department/units in the BEARS Region. We also congratulate Lori on her retirement and wish her the very best in the next chapters in her life beyond Berkeley.

Most sincerely,

Marc Fisher
Vice Chancellor, Administration
